Spring Updates

Happy Spring!

If you follow my blog, you know that I've been on hiatus for much of the winter. I've been writing, writing, writing, and doing a few other things as well. Write Here, Write Now! will resume soon with a fresh new look, new subject matter, and a select few new guests.

In the meantime, here's what's coming up. I look forward to "seeing" you in a month of so!

Here's the cover of The Money Bird, Animals in Focus Mystery #2, coming in September. Janet, Jay, Leo, and friends from Drop Dead on Recall are back. I would love to hear what you think of the new cover, which features Tom Saunder's handsome Lab, Drake.

All of the Animals in Focus mysteries are (or will be) available in print and ebook formats. (Watch for news about another option.)

I'm working on the third book in the series: cats, dogs, agility, & murder!

I teach, too, and am planning to lead two writing retreat workshops for women ~ mountains in the Fall, sea coast in the Spring. Stay tuned for details.

In May, June, and July I will be traveling a bit - maybe I'll see you along the way! Here are some of my plans....

On May 29 I will be reading an excerpt from a narrative nonfiction work-in-progress about dogs in Lawrence, Kansas, at the conference of the Association for the Study of Literature and Environment (ASLE).

Then on June 1, I will be speaking to Border Crimes, the Kansas/Missouri chapter of Sisters in Crime, about how amateur tracking dogs (like Jay in the Animals in Focus mysteries) work.

Here's my Lily, who has obedience and tracking titles, tracking a stranger at the tender age of twelve weeks. I will post detailed information here and on my Facebook author page.

As some of you know, I went back to school 2 years ago for my Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in creative writing. Yes, I have been writing and publishing since the 1980s, but I wanted to shift my direction and have access to outstanding mentors, so back to school. In July, I will be graduating from the Stonecoast MFA Program at the University of Southern Maine. The festivities will include my creative reading of narrative nonfiction and poetry, my presentaiton about portrayals of animals in literature, and lots of hugging and whooping with my fellow graduates, all in the beautiful environs of Brunswick, Maine.

So that's what's going on right here, right now, with Write Here, Write Now! I hope you will check back, or better yet, subscribe to email updates. In the meantime, you can keep track of news through my Facebook Author Page, Twitter, and my Website.

Thanks for reading!

Sheila

  3. How long will a new jersey personal injury lawyer stay on my
record? You can typically get a shorter probationary period and can negotiate
    less strict conditions of probation.
